From Vienna via A4 + B51 (approx. 1 hour). Multiple ticket vendors and boat rental services available in the village. Burgenland provincial fishing license and lake permit required.

Europe's westernmost steppe lake (320 km², continuation of Hungary's Lake Fertő), averaging 1 m deep with dense reed beds. Northern pike, pikeperch, catfish, carp, and tench are found here. Podersdorf on the lake's eastern shore is the most famous fishing spot.
