Kádártai bányató

The pond features reed islands in its center and reed and sedge vegetation along its shores. Average depth 2–6 m (max ~8 m). Managed by Kádártai Sporthorgász Egyesület. Water body code: 19-016-1-4.

Approximately 1.4 hectares, averaging 1.5 m deep fishing pond managed by Polgárdi Anglers' Association, just a few minutes from the M7 exit. Well-stocked with carp, grass carp, pike, crucian carp, and bream.

Hungary's third-largest lake (approximately 2,600 ha), with an average depth of 1.5 m and a maximum depth of 3.5 m. Agárd is the southern shore's most renowned fishing hub and serves as the headquarters of the MOHOSZ Velencei Lake District.

A 26-hectare (according to some sources 45 hectares total water surface) reservoir near Ajka, consisting of a smaller upper lake and a larger, deeper lower lake (maximum 10 m depth). Managed by Lőrintei-tavi Angling Association. Features large specimens of carp, grass carp, pike, catfish, and perch.

Völgyhídi Fishing Pond (Kőröshegy)
Fishing ponds established next to the Séd Stream Reservoir at Kőröshegy, 10 km south of Lake Balaton's southern shore. Good stocks of carp, grass carp, and African catfish, as well as perch, pikeperch, bream, and crucian carp.

Marcalgergelyi Joó-tó
A 1.8-hectare intensive fishing pond with a leisure park located between Marcalgergelyi and Pápa-Celldömölk, averaging 3.2 m deep (maximum 4.2 m). Over 7 tonnes of stocked fish: carp, grass carp, pike, African catfish, crucian carp, bream, and pike-perch.

Fenyves-tó (Várpalota)
A 9.5-hectare former mining lake with crystal-clear karst water next to Várpalota, reaching a maximum depth of 30 m. Special species include rainbow trout, along with carp, grass carp, pike, pikeperch, asp, perch, and crucian carp.

Nagyteveli Reservoir
A 25–35 hectare (water level dependent) reservoir in the Bakony region, average depth 4–5 m, created by damming the Pápai-Bakony Stream. Managed by Pápa and Vidéke Angling Association. Carp, grass carp, pike, catfish, perch, bream, crucian carp, and ide.

Tiszafüred is the heart of Tisza-tó: channels, oxbow lakes, bays and open water fishable year-round. Over 50 fish species, with carp records of 31.5 kg and catfish exceeding 100 kg. A unique blend of natural and managed fishing environment.

Tisza-tó – Erzsébet-liget (Abádszalók)
A designated, well-maintained fishing area along the embankment section between Abádszalók and Kisköre, spanning approximately 2.4 km with 49 equipped fishing stands. Paved, brush-free bank — comfortable, mud-free fishing.

Tiszafüred-Örvény, nature conservation wet-forest environment (NATURA 2000, Hortobágyi National Park). A peaceful, nature-close experience with organized fishing infrastructure. Mirror carp, leather carp, predatory fish, and peaceful species.

Jóléti-tó (Újlőrincfalva)
A roughly 1-hectare artificial pond in Heves County, a few kilometers from Poroszló. Formed from a former clay quarry with a clay-silt bottom, 1–2 meters deep, with reed beds along the shore. Species include carp, African catfish (record 12.8 kg), grass carp, crucian carp, and pikeperch.

Ráckevei-Soroksári Duna – Áporka
One of the most diverse and popular sections of this 58 km long regulated Danube branch below Budapest. Slow current, reed beds, natural riparian vegetation. Carp, grass carp, bream, crucian carp, catfish, pike, perch, pikeperch, barbel.

Bokodi-tó (floating fishing village)
A ~197 ha cooling reservoir beside Oroszlány with an average depth of 3–4 m and maximum depth of 8 m. Due to the power plant's warm-water circulation, it does not freeze even in winter — a year-round water and one of the country's most popular winter fishing destinations. Features iconic fishing cabins built directly on the water with jetties.

Deseda Lake (Kaposvár)
One of Hungary's largest artificial reservoirs, covering 245+ hectares on the northern edge of Kaposvár. Features over 200 fishing spots with 40% shaded shoreline. Suitable for both shore and boat fishing, with a 7 km cycling circuit.

Tisza River – Szeged
The Szeged section of the Tisza River is one of the Great Plain's most significant waterways, with moderate current and abundant fish stocks. Average depth 3 m, maximum 25 m, moderate turbidity. The Upper and Lower Tisza banks, as well as the Ujszeged side, are the most frequently visited areas.

Mártély Tisza Oxbow Lake
A 46-hectare oxbow lake with an average depth of 2 m and maximum depth of 7 m, formed during the Tisza River regulation of 1889–1892. Home to 36 fish species with abundant populations and 60% shaded banks. Located within the Mártély Landscape Protection Area — ideal for nature-friendly fishing.

Hortobágy River
An 11.5-hectare stretch spanning approximately 4 km from the railway bridge to the Borsós Weir, with an average width of 15–25 meters. The riverbed is varied, featuring hard and silty substrates, dense reed beds, and aquatic vegetation. Quiet, nature-oriented fishing.

Tatai Öreg-tó
A 220-hectare lake in the center of Tata, with centuries of fishing tradition. Carp, pike, pikeperch, catfish, crucian carp, bream, and tench. Fishing is prohibited during the October-November bird migration season (waterfowl rest area).

The Mura river forms the Hungarian-Croatian border near Letenye — alpine-sourced water with strong current. Pikeperch, barbel, asp, chub, and catfish are present. Some sections are protected.
Velencei Lake – Pákozd
Located on the northern shore of Velencei Lake near Pákozd. Shallow water (average 1.5 m), reed bed area, excellent for carp and pike fishing. Together with the Agárd partner section on the southern side, it is the 3rd largest lake.

A major fishing gateway on the southern Hungarian stretch of the Danube. Deep river with strong current. Catfish, pikeperch, barbel, asp, and carp. The oxbow lakes near Báta and Dunaszekcső are also excellent spinning spots.

Maconkai Reservoir
Maconka has been part of the city of Bátonyterenye since 1984 in present-day Nógrád County. Before the 1950 county reorganization, the settlement was a small municipality in the Pétervásárai district of Heves County. Following the 1950 county reorganization, it became part of Nógrád County. In 1965, it was annexed to the neighboring Nagybátony, which together with Szúpatak and Kisterenye forms the city. The settlement is located on Road 2409.

Harsányi-tó
A fishing pond of approximately 30 hectares located in Bükkalja, Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county, near the village of Harsány. Stocked with carp, pike, crucian carp, and bream.

A gravel pit lake system in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county, south of Miskolc. Multiple lakes with carp waters, predator sections, and sport ticket areas. Carp, pike, catfish, pikeperch, and grass carp.
Fadd-Dombori
Danube oxbow lake in Tolna County (Domború-Duna), approximately 340 hectares of water surface. Abundant oxbow lake edges, sizeable catfish, pike, pikeperch, and carp. Beach and camping facilities on the shore.

Gravel pit lake on the outskirts of Tatabánya city in Komárom-Esztergom county. Stocked with carp, pike, pikeperch, and crucian carp. Close to the city and easily accessible.
Arlói-tó
A ~20 hectare lake in the Bükk Mountains region near Ózd, Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county. Home to carp, pike, crucian carp, and bream. Features high banks and offers a peaceful fishing environment.
Bükkösdi Reservoir
A roughly 25-hectare reservoir in Baranya county, located near Bükkösd village on the Vörösmarti Stream. Good populations of carp, pike, crucian carp, and bream.
Préri-tó – Hegyeshalom
A gravel pit lake in Győr-Moson-Sopron county near the Austrian border. Stocked with carp, pike, pikeperch, and grass carp. Situated in a prairie-like flat landscape.
Dunaszigeti Side Channels
Northern part of Szigetköz, a network of gravelly side channels between the main Danube and the Mosoni-Danube. Pike, pikeperch, catfish, barbel, and asp — fast-flowing waters with Alpine character.
Mosoni-Duna – Kimle
