Approximately 70 km south of Prague via the D4/D3 motorway toward Solenice/Zvíkov. Zvíkov Castle is the most visited access point, with boat rental available. Permits available at local ČRS cashiers.

Czech Republic's largest hydroelectric reservoir (27.3 km²) on the Vltava River near Solenice. Completed in 1961 with a capacity of 364 MW. Enormous populations of pikeperch and catfish, excellent spinning water — one of the Czech Republic's most popular predatory fish waters.
