Nyíregyháza is a city with county rights in Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County and the seat of Nyíregyháza District. With a population of nearly 120,000, it is the seventh largest settlement in the country and the second largest in the Northern Great Plain. It has held city status with county rights since 1990. A dynamically developing city, it serves as the economic and cultural hub of the region and is an attractive tourist destination. Before the county reorganization in the 1950s, it belonged to Szabolcs County and was its
